5 Job Post Ideas + Video Outlines

Hey Salon Owner,

As a former salon owner myself, I know how challenging it can be to find the right team. Social media is one of the best tools you have to attract talented individuals—but you need a job post that stands out, reflects your salon culture, and speaks directly to the type of stylist you’re looking for. It’s about more than just listing the job—let’s get creative and show off what makes your team and salon truly special!

Here’s how you can craft job posts that grab attention, plus video ideas to really make your posts pop:

1. Lead with the Big Picture

Start with what makes your salon unique. Share what you’re looking for beyond the job title—what values and culture are you promoting?

Example Post:
“We’re more than just a salon—we’re a community that values creativity, collaboration, and growth. We’re looking for a stylist who’s passionate about their craft and excited to be part of a dynamic team! 💇🏻‍♀️✨”

Video Idea:
Show your team in action—stylists collaborating, helping each other, or having fun during a team meeting or event. You can add a voiceover or text overlay that talks about the values you’re promoting. This helps candidates see the vibe of your salon before they even apply.

2. Show the Perks and Benefits

Candidates want to know what's in it for them. Highlight what makes your salon an amazing place to work. This could be flexible hours, growth opportunities, or even salon events and team outings.

Example Post:
“Join our team and enjoy flexible scheduling, ongoing education, and an amazing work-life balance. We’re more than just a job—we’re a family that supports each other’s goals! 🙌”

Video Idea:
Create a short, upbeat video showing your salon’s perks. Include clips of your team on an educational trip, a fun team-building activity, or simply working together in a relaxed, positive environment. Add text overlays like “Flexible Hours,” “Continued Education,” and “Supportive Team Culture” to reinforce your message.

3. Make It Personal and Authentic

Use your voice to connect with candidates. Show them what working in your salon will feel like and why they’ll love it. Keep it friendly and welcoming.

Example Post:
“Are you a stylist who loves to learn, grow, and have fun while doing it? We’re a close-knit team looking for someone who’s ready to jump in and make an impact. If you’re passionate, driven, and ready to create beautiful transformations, we want to meet you! 💖💇🏻”

Video Idea:
Film a casual, behind-the-scenes clip where you (the salon owner) talk directly to the camera, welcoming applicants and sharing a bit about your vision for the team. Show genuine moments like a stylist sharing a tip with a colleague or a team celebrating a milestone. Personalizing the video will create a connection with potential candidates.

4. Add a Clear Call to Action

Always tell them what to do next. Include a link to apply, or prompt them to DM you for more details.

Example Post:
“Ready to join our amazing team? 💥 Apply now by clicking the link in our bio or DM us for more info! Let’s make 2024 your best year yet!”

Video Idea:
End your video with a clear, upbeat call to action. Film a quick clip of you holding a sign or pointing to a text overlay with “Apply Now!” and “DM us for more info!” You can also show your team members encouraging applicants to reach out.

5. Include Visuals

A job post with images or videos of your team in action is always more engaging. Consider posting a photo of your team, a fun team outing, or a behind-the-scenes look at your salon’s atmosphere. Visuals make the post feel more personal and real. 📸

Video Idea:
Create a quick montage of your team in action—styling, chatting, and laughing together. Use upbeat music and quick cuts to keep the energy high. Include text overlays or captions to highlight what your salon is all about, like “Creative Environment,” “Collaborative Team,” and “Fun & Supportive Culture.”

Actionable Tip:

Post your job opening on Instagram and then share it to your stories. Tag your team for extra reach and ask them to share it! Be sure to interact with people who engage with the post—show that you’re approachable and excited to meet potential candidates!

I hope these tips help you create job posts that attract the talent you need to build your dream team. Ready to try them out? Let me know how it goes!
