Finding Time to Reflect and Recharge

As we approach the end of the year, I wanted to share some reflections from my time as a salon owner, particularly how I spent the week between Christmas and New Year’s. That week was always a unique opportunity for me—not only for my growth as a leader but also to encourage my team to refuel.

For me the week was slower between Christmas and New Years. We often closed around the holidays to give the team time with their families. For me, there was nothing more valuable than those moments with loved ones, and it reinforced the importance of balance in our lives. I know my team was appreciative of the time.

If you have the chance this week, I hope you take time to reflect and imagine. Both are essential for preparing for the new year ahead. A habit I picked up a year and a half ago is journaling, and I can’t recommend it enough. I’ll be honest—I rarely go back to read what I’ve written, but the act of getting my thoughts down on paper is incredibly therapeutic. It allows me to visualize my dreams, and often I find myself writing the same intentions repeatedly; it helps me manifest them more quickly. And what better way to start a new year than manifesting your wildest dreams!

So, I encourage you to find a journal, grab a warm cup of coffee or hot chocolate, and carve out some quiet time for reflection and dreaming this week.

Let’s embrace the opportunities the new year will bring!
